Indian Propecia (Finasteride) is used to treat male pattern baldness, or hair loss in men from the vertex and anterior mid-scalp area of the head. Finasteride blocks the formation of the chemical DHT in the body, which has the effect of interrupting the male pattern baldness process. It helps the man to reduce hair loss and grow new hair where it has been lost before.
Propecia is the only FDA-approved pill-form treatment for male pattern baldness. Propecia has been shown in clinical studies to produce certain side effects in men in the area of their sexual lives, such as a diminishing of sexual desire, problems achieving erection, and a decrease in seminal production. These side effects appear in less than 2% of men who take Propecia or Finesteride. These effects also disappear once the man ceases using Finasteride.
Some men may have to take Propecia every day for three months or more before seeing any benefits. If it hasn’t worked within a year’s time, it is unlikely it ever will help. Propecia only works long term if you continue taking it regularly. Once you have ceased taking this drug, you will probably lose any hair that was grown within a year of stopping the drug. Although results do vary, most men won’t be able to regrow all the hair they lost originally due to male pattern baldness.
